Mindfully Bertie’s Christmas Reflection

Posted on 25/12/2016 By

Bertie wearing a Christmas Santa hat sat looking at a lit candle.

Merry Christmas 2016.

Lighting a Christmas Candle to Diddley.

The holly in the windy hedge
And round the Manor House the yew
Will soon be stripped to deck the ledge,
The altar, font and arch and pew,
So that the villagers can say
‘The church looks nice’ on Christmas Day.

Provincial Public Houses blaze,
Corporation tramcars clang,
On lighted tenements I gaze,
Where paper decorations hang,
And bunting in the red Town Hall
Says ‘Merry Christmas to you all’.

So Merry Christmas to you all. I hope I helped you smile through the tears. Let’s carry on together in 2017. Here’s just some of you who met me this year. With music, if you wish…

Christmas

  1. Fliss Drewett says:

    And is it true?
    And is it true?
That most tremendous tale of all.
    Seen in a stained glass window’s hue…
A baby in an oxen stall.
The maker of the stars and sea
Became a child on earth for me.

    John Betjamin

Thank you for this blog Bobby and Bertie.
    Happy Christmas xx

  2. KIM says:

Love your Christmas memories of the year with all the happy people you met along the way. Bertie brings a smile wherever he goes…a great gift.

Happy Christmas and a bright new year to both,

    Love Kim
    xx
